John Walters brings nearly 30 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, and strategic advocacy across higher education, energy, business, and state government. Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation for building bipartisan relationships, leading successful coalitions, and advancing public policy initiatives that deliver meaningful results for organizations and communities across Louisiana. Most recently, John served as Vice President of External Affairs for Louisiana State University, where he directed governmental relations and public affairs for LSU's seven-campus system, working closely with local, state, and federal leaders to advance the university's strategic priorities and strengthen its institutional influence.

Prior to LSU, John led state government affairs for Chevron across a thirteen-state region, managing complex public policy initiatives, government engagement during major corporate transactions, and public sector response efforts during Hurricanes Ida and Ian. He also served as Vice President of Governmental Relations for Associated Builders and Contractors of Louisiana, transforming the association into one of the state's most respected advocacy organizations. His public affairs foundation began during a decade of service in the Office of the Speaker of the Louisiana House of Representatives, where he gained a deep understanding of Louisiana's legislative process. Today, John leverages that experience and a statewide network of trusted relationships to help clients navigate government, build consensus, and achieve lasting results.
